Wildlife Safaris Tour Holidays in the Uganda Savannah
Queen Elizabeth National Park, in southwestern Uganda, between Lakes Edward and George, is the perfect place for those looking for a “traditional” African safari. Herds of elephants and buffaloes roam the savannah and there are numerous antelopes, including Ugandans and Ugandans. However, the highlight of the Drive game in a reserve of 1,978 square kilometers is to identify climbing on the trees.
This unusual behavior is considered proud of only two seats on the African continent and the other is located around the protected areas of Lake Manyara and Tarangire in southern Tanzania. More elusive, leopards can also be spotted in the park, with a total of four “Big Five”.
Located on the road from Kibale to Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers an incredible variety of wildlife and landscape opportunities in just a few days. This is something that a safaris tour to Uganda cannot offer, and many other holidays cannot.
Bird Watching Safaris Tour Holidays to Uganda
Uganda’s rich ecosystem combination of rainforests, savannas, Great Lakes, and semi-arid deserts actually supports a huge diversity of more than 1,000 bird species. See fishing owls, palm-nut eagles, African toucans, pink-backed pelicans in Queen Elizabeth National Park, several species of kingfishers and flycatchers in Bodongo Forest, storks in Lake Mburo, and several species of warblers.
Murchison Falls Uganda Wildlife Safaris Tour Adventure
Murchison Falls is a waterfall 40 kilometers upstream from where the Victoria Nile flows into Lake Albert. About 300,000 liters of water per second overflow from the edge of the 43-meter waterfall, making it one of the 25 most powerful waterfalls in the world. This force is created by a particularly narrow strait at the head of the waterfall, which at one point is only 7 meters wide.
While a boat ride to the base of Murchison Falls is the star attraction in the 3,893-square-mile national park that bears its name, it’s also a great place to see large herds of giraffes, as well as buffalo, elephants, and lions. Crocodiles and hippos inhabit the same Victoria River.
The park is approximately a 5-7-hour drive from Kampala, depending on which safari lodge you are staying in and whether you need a 4×4 vehicle.
Chimpanzees Tracking and Other Primates & Wildlife Safaris Tour Holidays to Uganda
Apart from the Gorilla, Uganda is one of the best destinations in Africa to see other main species. The scenes of the chimpanzees are almost guaranteed to Safari, both at the Kibale National Park and at the Budongo Forest, the habitat of the well-known residences. Olive baboons, black and white colobus, red-tailed macaques, and blue monkeys are also found in both reserves and in Kibale, Ugandan colobus, and mangabey monkeys.
Much like gorilla trekking, walking through the rainforest in hopes of getting close to the chimpanzees and listening to the exotic bird soundtrack is a fascinating experience in itself.
