Detailed 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday

Day 1: Transfer to Kitgum

The first day of your 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday is traveling. Considering the journey requires about 11 hours; pick up has to be as early as possible.

Your journey will start at 7:00 am after an early breakfast, and your journey to Kitgum will start. Kidepo National Park is far placed-north east, bordering Kenya to the east and South Sudan to the north.

The journey can be very exhausting to drive directly to the park making it necessary to break the journey into two, that is Kampala to Kitgum and then Kitgum to the park. You will have stopovers along the way to stretch or for breakfast or lunch.

Lunch will be in Gulu town and arrive in Kitgum later afternoon and head directly to your room and then later dinner and overnight stay

Day 2 of 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday: Transfer to Kidepo National Park, Game Drive

On the second day of your 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday to Kidepo Valley National Park, wake up to an early breakfast and embark on 3 hours drive to Kidepo National Park where you will embark on a game drive in the Kidepo Valley in the anticipation of seeing herds of buffalos, zebras, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and cheetahs. You will enjoy a slow drive.

Make sure the camera is ready to take some picture moments while on the game drive as you can have stops at any point you so want. Break off for the day and head straight to the lodge.

You can spend the rest of the day for leisure admiring the wilderness environment. Dinner and overnight follow

Day 3 of 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday: Game Drive

This is the busiest day of our trip and so a lot of activities are lined up for this day including a morning game drive and a cultural walk on this third day of our 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday.

Very early in the morning breakfast will do you good before you hit the road. When breakfast is done, you will set off for another breathtaking and rewarding early morning game drive through the open savannah, rocky outcrops, forests, and rings of mountains.

Drive extensively up to Kanangorok Hot springs and brace yourself for photo moments and chances of sighting more wildlife, especially lions sitting on the rocks as they scan the park for possible prey. Drive back to the lodge to relax and lunch

In the afternoon, head out for a cultural tour of the Karamojong people for a truly unique experience. The Karamojong culture is still pure and unique from most other tribes in Uganda.

They have rejected civilization and still live like ancient times. The Karamojong are predominantly pastoralists and live purposely on cattle farming.

They fight for their cattle as it is in their belief that every cattle in the world belongs to them. As such, fierce cattle raid still occurs in the region and at times stretch to neighboring Kenya.

They are a very interesting group of people with a very strong and unique culture visible from their way of dressing, cooking, dancing, and other daily life activities.

A visit to the Karamojong is truly a rewarding experience you should look forward to Later transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 4 of 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday: Game Drive and Transfer to Kitgum

Early in the morning after breakfast, we shall hit the road for another game drive. As they always say every stepping into the game park is a different experience.

No game drive is the same in the parks. Every day of the 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday presents itself differently and with different sightings. You will spot as many wild animals on this game drive.

Return to the lodge to check out and transfer to Kitgum where you will have your lunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

It’s optional that the return from the park you may opt for Gulu and not Kitgum for a short night stay. Later dinner and overnight

On the fifth day of your 5 Days Uganda Safari Holiday no much pressure, we shall have breakfast relatively morning hours and proceed to Kampala with lunch en- route arriving in Kampala late afternoon or evening.

Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo valley national park is one of the magnificent national parks in Uganda. It is located in the remote Karamoja region in the Kaabong district between Uganda and South Sudan border.

The national park covers a total land area of 1442 square kilometers and is comprised of savannah vegetation, hills, and valleys like Kidepo and Narus Valley, and mount Morungole among others.

According to CNN Travel, Kidepo national park was named the second most beautiful park in Africa due to the charming and breathtaking landscape and abundant wildlife. The park is known for its wildlife which includes over 76 mammal species and 480 bird species

The national park is a home of mammals species including the big four mammals which include the elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, and other animals like zebras, ostrich, oryx, hyenas, bat-eared fox, aardwolf, caracal, jackal, klipspringer, boho reedbuck, bushbuck, bush duiker, waterbuck, elands, oribi, Uganda kobs, greater and lesser kudu, Jackson’s hartebeest among others.
