Uganda Safaris Tour Holidays

If you are looking for a “hidden gem” in Africa, look no further than Uganda. A variety of wildlife experiences, such as gorilla trekking and lion climbing, outshine many other destinations, but the number of visitors to places like Kenya and Tanzania is negligible. The landlocked country offers spectacular scenery, from great lakes feeding the River Nile to rainforest-capped volcanoes and vast savannas, and is home to a rich diversity of wildlife and birdlife.

At Kc Uganda Safaris Tour Holidays, we have been designing personalized holidays for over 20 years. Our African experts are happy to help you plan your Uganda safaris tour adventure. Whether a safaris tour is on our website or a multi-center holiday in Uganda and one of its neighbors, contact us.

The Mountain Gorillas of Uganda

Just over 1,000 mountain gorillas remain in the wild, nearly half in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the rest in the Virunga Mountains, a cordillera of extinct volcanoes that straddles the border between the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda. Most mountain gorillas live in groups, each led by a dominant silverback who takes responsibility for their well-being. They decide where to eat, protect the herd from tigers and other gorillas, and take care of the offspring if the mother dies or leaves the herd.

To witness this social behavior in the animal kingdom and the size and strength of these intelligent primates, a gorilla safaris tour to Uganda is a truly positive experience.

Uganda Gorilla Safaris Tour Experiences

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest can take up to 6 hours depending on which gorilla family you want to see and whether they have progressed since your last sighting. The walk is generally of moderate difficulty, undulating in places and sometimes through dense vegetation. If you’re looking for a nine-to-five getaway, Uganda Gorilla Trek is as far away as possible!

The landscapes of Bwindi, as well as those of the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains, are out of this world. You wake up in the morning to look at the pristine rainforest, the tallest trees often covered in fog. During the Uganda Safaris Tour, you will also see other amazing plants and birds of East Africa.

Gorilla numbers are slowly increasing thanks to conservation efforts, partially funded in Uganda with a $ 700 fee for a gorilla permit, which includes park admission and an unforgettable hour with this amazing primate. Permits are limited to 8 people per gorilla group per day, so advance booking is highly recommended. KC Uganda Safaris Tour Holidays include the cost of vacation permits in Uganda and Rwanda.

Chimpanzees Tracking and Other Primates

Apart from the Gorilla, Uganda is one of the best destinations in Africa to see other main species. The scenes of the chimpanzees are almost guaranteed to Safari, both at the Kibale National Park and at the Budongo Forest, the habitat of the well-known residences. Olive baboons, black and white colobus, red-tailed macaques, and blue monkeys are also found in both reserves and in Kibale, Ugandan colobus, and mangabey monkeys.

Much like gorilla trekking, walking through the rainforest in hopes of getting close to the chimpanzees and listening to the exotic bird soundtrack is a fascinating experience in itself.

Wildlife Safaris Tour Holidays in the Uganda Savannah

Queen Elizabeth National Park, in southwestern Uganda, between Lakes Edward and George, is the perfect place for those looking for a “traditional” African safari. Herds of elephants and buffaloes roam the savannah and there are numerous antelopes, including Ugandans and Ugandans. However, the highlight of the Drive game in a reserve of 1,978 square kilometers is to identify climbing on the trees. This unusual behavior is considered proud of only two seats on the African continent and the other is located around the protected areas of Lake Manaara and Tanja in southern Tanzania. More elusive, leopards can also be spotted in the park, with a total of four “Big Five”.

Located on the road from Kibale to Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers an incredible variety of wildlife and landscape opportunities in just a few days. This is something that a safaris tour to Uganda cannot offer, and many other holidays cannot.

Bird Watching Safaris Tour Holidays to Uganda

Uganda’s rich ecosystem combination of rainforests, savannas, Great Lakes, and semi-arid deserts actually supports a huge diversity of more than 1,000 bird species. See fishing owls, palm-nut eagles, African toucans, pink-backed pelicans in Queen Elizabeth National Park, several species of kingfishers and flycatchers in Bodongo Forest, storks in Lake Mburo, and several species of warblers.

Murchison Falls Uganda Safaris Tour Adventure

Murchison Falls is a waterfall 40 kilometers upstream from where the Victoria Nile flows into Lake Albert. About 300,000 liters of water per second overflow from the edge of the 43-meter waterfall, making it one of the 25 most powerful waterfalls in the world. This force is created by a particularly narrow strait at the head of the waterfall, which at one point is only 7 meters wide.

While a boat ride to the base of Murchison Falls is the star attraction in the 3,893-square-mile national park that bears its name, it’s also a great place to see large herds of giraffes, as well as buffalo, elephants, and lions. Crocodiles and hippos inhabit the same Victoria River.

The park is approximately a 5-7-hour drive from Kampala, depending on which safari lodge you are staying in and whether you need a 4×4 vehicle.

How Long Will You Stay in Uganda?

Most people visit Uganda for 3-4 days to meet the gorillas on our safaris tour holidays. Or visit Uganda for the opportunity to explore more of the country in a 2-3-week period. Those who stay only a few days combine the journey with time to another destination. For example, enjoy a 4-day onboard safari before traveling to Tanzania or Kenya to see the Masai Mara and Serengeti, or relax in the Indian Ocean.

Uganda is a favorite destination for African professionals looking for extended stays! Highlights of our Uganda safaris tour include visits to five national parks for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking and savannah hunting. You can even add 5 nights on the Kenyan coast for a safaris tour and beach holiday in Uganda.
